Center for Wooden Boats Wagner Education Center

New construction for non-profit Center for Wooden Boats Wagner Education Center at the Lake Union Park consisted of a two-story wood and glass clad, steel framed building. Designed by Tom Kundig of Olson Kundig Architects, this high-functioning, innovative space is LEED Gold certified.

Functional interior space includes gallery and exhibit space, a visitor center, gift shop, youth classroom that is convertible to a sail loft, first floor boat restoration and education shop, office, and meeting space. Through the use of operable doors, windows, and skylights, the space is designed to naturally ventilate. Construction was phased due to ongoing capital campaign to fund the project.
